Hello there. My name is Josiah Diuguid. I’m a 25 year-old University of Florida graduate who grew up in Gainesville Florida. I’ve lived here for 25 years and have loved music production for around 11 of those years.

The story of YFM starts with my mother. She was a gymnast at the University of Florida, and was a top athlete of the program (She also went to school with Emit Smith, apparently they were friends!). After her days at UF, she became a gymnastics judge and stilll judges at all levels today. It’s safe to say she has been heavily involved with the sport for most her life.

As for me, my musical capabilities grew over time and she noticed. She started pestering me telling me to format my music to fit floor routines. She saw different projects I would work on as gymnastics music. I had no such intention at the time but eventually she would convince me.

After a long weekend of judging she would sound off about how repetitive the floor routine music she hears is, and how she thought my music had something unique to offer the market. This actually did make sense to me, and eventually I started seeing my music as an opportunity. I played around with formatting my music and started to feel that I did have something to offer the many gymnasts out there that wanted something that could fit them (and help them stand out)…
